Antiquarian
Bookshop Isis, founded in 1984, is located in the historical centre of
Groningen.
|
Isis specialises
in philosophy and old & rare
books. In addition we sell books on
literature, history, religion, and
art, thus reflecting the learned
tradition of a region that produced
humanist scholars like Rudolphus
Agricola, and stimulated the
foundation of Groningen University
in 1614.
|
|
Isis is staffed by three academically
trained historians whose fields of
expertise range from modern
philosophy and social history to
medieval studies.
|
Together
they produce sales catalogues of
philosophical books (twice a year)
and old & rare books (once a
year) wich are sent to hundreds of
customers.
|
|
Of
course, Isis also sells its books online.
Every day new titles are added to
the website catalogue wich currently
contains around 6000 titles.
The
catalogue is also available through
the antiquarian databases (ZVAB
& Antiqbook).
