Antiquariaat
Fokas Holthuis started in 1994. It
is managed by Fokas Holthuis and
Paul Snijders.
We are specializing
in (mainly Dutch and Flemish)
literature in first and special
editions, bibliophile and
illustrated books, association
copies and ephemera, private press
editions and manuscripts, letters
and literary archives. It
is one of very few bookshops in the
Netherlands with an extensive
collection of literary manuscripts.
We
are collecting literary
paraphernalia (not for sale...). We
are the proud possessors of chairs
and waste-paper basket of Louis
Couperus, a working table of Isaac
Israëls and Marius Bauer, the
writing desk of Marcellus Emants and
Gerard Reve’s dress suit. Also we
have a painting by Arnon Grunberg
and a coloured chalk drawing of
Gerrit Komrij.
|
|
We
have at the moment a large
collection of Dutch private presses
in stock, a fine selection of Willem
Elsschot, many Couperus editions,
Frederik van Eeden, Simon Vestdijk,
lots of ephemera, an almost complete
set of Hein Elferink’s private
editions, a complete Vijf Ponden
Pers (wartime resistance editions,
1943-1945), a complete Eliance Pers
( 1968-1980), hundreds of
clandestine and illegal wartime
editions, beautiful De Roos editions
(1945-1995). |
|
|
|
We are specializing in
manuscripts, letters, ephemera and
association material of Dutch and
Flemish authors. If you are looking
for anything special in this area,
please let us know.
Also we are
interested in purchasing single
items or collections devoted to our
subject areas. |
